– Late afternoon I put one reef in the main, adding a Dyneema strop to the out-haul to ensure that the reef line didn’t chafe.

It was easy putting reefs in with the new Lazy Jack bag. I should have had a lazy Jack bag years ago..

The end of the Lazy Jack Bag needs to be secured to the end of the boom. I’ll do this when the wind eases.

Moderate southerly wind pushing me along nicely, crew morale is high.

Departure was great. Wow, so many people to see me off, so many boats in the fleet. I really appreciated the support of FSC & RPYC club members, commodores and officials and the general public for attending the send-off and taking part in the sail through.

I had a few difficulties with the self-steering gear as the lines were threaded wrongly around the hub on the wheel. Soon sorted that out. The wind vane is now working absolutely A1. It’s working as well as the day it was bought…. or better, thanks to James.
