Transmission at 1700hrs. Lat 030.06South; Long 111.13East. Speed 6.2kn. Wind 18kn from S. Sea – low swell.

The self-steering gear all working perfectly now.

Tried to use the new Simrad electric tiller pilots however they didn’t work due to being configured for mounting on the Starboard side instead of the port side out of the box. I read the manual … last resort … and resolved this issue. My old Simrad tiller pilot is still not working. May be possible to resolve issue in pilot settings.

Currently sailing under full jib and one reef in the main. The boat is heeling at around 8 degrees. Smooth sailing.

The boat seems faster with the extra weight of chain, solar panels, stainless work, food, water, diesel, etc on board.

Very happy with the solar panel installation. Thank you Victron, Extreme Stainless, Brian Marsh and Greg Hansen. The extra shade is making it more comfortable. Never had this much protection from the sun.

I have not turned off my radios, chart-plotter, instruments, AIS, etc. and batteries have remained at 100% the whole time.

Any fuel used will be for propulsion only. I won’t need to use the engine for charging!

Took a water sample every day so far. I take a DNA water sample every four days. It was a bit of a struggle at first using the tweezers to fold the DNA sample and put it into the tube. I’ll get the hang of it as time progresses.
