ETA Mauritius Sunday 1st December.

Guessing will arrive near noon.  Tie up Le Caudan (Elizabeth Quay type bar restaurant area.) Facing harbour Customs Immigration far right. And far left Le Caudan wharf for tying up visiting yachts.  After Customs.  How long at Customs?  How long a piece of string?

I’ll have time with Morgan took look at the problem with my AIS transmitter. About 10 years ago I ferried boats for Murray France and crewed for him I.E. Mexico McKay Qld. At the time Kailis and France had 45 Prawn Trawlers and two fishing ships for Herd Island and Kuiguellen. All moved on since then.

Murray and I were first amongst WA group to have AIS (most WA yachties knew little about AIS then). About 3 years later I noticed NZ yachties catching on.  Swan River was in the way back of beyond. But it slowly caught on.

AIS transmitters are compulsory in some countries.  Singapore Thailand etc.

Satellites pick up the signals.  VHF is line of sight.  Which can go to the moon,  –  or only RPYC Rottnest.   –  Curved earth.

I had a problem with my AIS once before -broken airial cord. Mmmm – can’t spell.  Neither can iPad.  I bet Steve Yobs? Couldn’t spell and the guy who invented Micro Soft wouldn’t be able to get a job with Micro Soft if he applied.  (Hasn’t the qualification)

Anyway Paul Stratfold flew into BVIs with new one.  My AIS shows transmitting now.  What frequency don’t know.

Hope all is well in WA.  Fine here. Very good. I will buy a SW radio in a duty free shop Mauritius and can then pick up BBC.  Dunno what happened to my other one. Zilch Zero Negative news here.  Maybe that’s good.

Has Donald Trump declared war on Tahiti yet?

Kindest regards
